The House of Dior quickly became infamous, with Dior’s feminine silhouettes creating the “new” shape for women as a relief from the broad shoulders and harsh lines of the 40s fashion trends. The label became eponymous with classic style and exquisite attention to detail, drawing a large celebrity following from the likes of Marlene Dietrich, Jacqueline Kennedy, Princess Grace, and so many more. Monsieur Dior’s approach to the industry and business revolutionized the way we know the industry now, introducing branding with logos and extensions of his line to fur, perfume, young women’s wear, jewellery and eyewear.
